A Jersey Shore Legacy, Reimagined
For over five decades, this corner of Monmouth Road has been where the Shore celebrates
Where Memories Are Made
From first dates to wedding days, sweet sixteens to silver anniversaries — generations of families have made their memories here.
"Today, Branches carries that legacy forward with a fresh vision and the same warm hospitality that's made this address a landmark."
Where It All Began
In the 1970s, Squire's Pub opened its doors and quickly became a Jersey Shore institution. For 25 years under the Plasteras family, it was the place — where parents met for dinner, where couples got engaged, where every milestone found its celebration.
The pub wasn't just a restaurant. It was a gathering place. A constant in a community that values tradition.
The Birth of Branches
In 2002, four local investors saw something special in this storied property. They purchased the venue and gave it a new name: Branches — inspired by our home in West Long Branch, our neighbors in Long Branch, and the magnificent magnolia tree that still graces our entrance.
The vision was clear: honor the warmth and hospitality that made Squire's beloved, while creating elegant spaces worthy of life's most important moments.
To mark the transformation, the new owners extended an invitation to every couple who had celebrated their wedding here over the previous 30 years. Hundreds came. That evening captured everything Branches stands for — community, continuity, celebration.
Renewed & Reimagined
After a brief pause during 2020, Branches emerged renewed. The property underwent a complete transformation: a stunning inlaid dance floor, a waterfall garden, redesigned ballrooms with warm lighting and custom bars. Every detail considered. Every space elevated.
And in 2023, The Squire returned — a full-service restaurant honoring the pub that started it all. Co-owner Steven Meyer, who grew up in Middletown with childhood memories of Squire's Pub, brought the name back to where it belongs.
"My parents used to celebrate here. Opening this restaurant is a full circle moment."— Steven Meyer, Owner

Where the Shore Comes to Celebrate
We've hosted thousands of weddings. Countless corporate galas. University dinners for Monmouth. Celebrations of life. First birthdays and fiftieth anniversaries. Families from West Long Branch, Long Branch, Ocean Township, Middletown, Colts Neck, Little Silver, Fair Haven, and throughout the Jersey Shore have trusted us with their most important moments.
Through it all, one thing remains constant: this is where the Shore comes to celebrate.
The magnolia tree still stands at our entrance. The name on the building has changed, but the purpose never has.
Welcome to Branches.
